Every March, during the Shades Valley Camera Club annual dinner, awards are announced for the most outstanding images from the prior calendar year.

First, second and third place monthly winners from each competition category are eligible for the coveted recognition. An annual winner from each category

(Digital Projection, Color Prints, Black & White Prints, Artistic Prints and Wildlife Image of the Year) is selected, capped with the selection of the "Best of Show" image for the year.
